I first met Maya and Dan back in 2020 when I was taking their engagement portraits before Dan left on an assignment. We ended up in one of the gorgeous flower fields in Germany and just had the best time together! You can see a video of what their engagement session was like by clicking here. They are such an easygoing and fun couple so of course their engagement photos turned out AMAZING.
When Maya and Dan decided to get married here in Germany and have ME photograph their wedding, I was beyond excited!! They are always super go with the flow and they made it a point that they wanted me to feel like I wasn’t just working but also a part of their big day. The sweetest couple EVER.
So, let’s chat about the elephant in the room…THIS VENUE. The venue was the Schloss Leiser in Bernkastel-Kues, Germany. It’s a REAL german castle and it was absolutely breathtaking. Seriously, the photos are unreal you just wait. Their wedding style was very elegant and timeless and their added wedding decor was more of a classic boho vibe and it fit together perfectly. They had family and friends fly in from the United States along with a lot of their friends from Germany join them to celebrate! Their whole wedding day was such a blast and you could really tell how much their guests loved them and were so happy to be there to celebrate them!
Maya and Dan chose to write their own vows and they were so sweet and funny, it made everyone laugh! Maya actually teared up later on when she saw the photos of each other writing them. If you’re thinking about it…I 100% recommend writing personal vows if you think you can get through it. It is such a sweet and personal touch.
All and all, Maya and Dans wedding at the Schloss Leiser Castle was such a dream! Is it strange if I hang up someone else’s wedding photo in my house? Asking for a friend….ok maybe not but what kind of wedding photographer would I be if I wasn’t absolutely in love with their gallery!
