I have invested my entire life into this business and truly built it from the ground up. Most days you can find me at my computer hours on end, working on marketing, graphic design, emails, and so much more. Did you know that photography is really only about 20% taking photos and the other 80% is business? YUP, it is!
I adore everything about it and being a business owner. When booking with me I never see you as just another client, I really love to truly connect with my clients and become friends and get to know you and how I can best serve you. That is why I limit myself to ONLY three clients per week and six weddings a year. (Yeah did I mention you should book in advance?!)

My journey with
I'm Rachel, a small town girl from Texas who married her high school sweetheart (can someone say basicccc!? HAHA) and ran off first to a tropical island in Japan, and now to Germany. (There ya go, the story is getting a lil' more interesting.) I LOVE dogs and all animals but I may be a little biased towards Pomeranians. My hubby and I own two named Booty + Raion. Our long term dream is to someday own five Poms along with some land down in Texas so that we can have tons of furry friends such chickens, horses, and piggies. For now though? We’re busy traveling this amazing world that God created.
I began my photography business in September of 2017 in my home state of Texas, but had ALWAYS loved photography growing up. I was never able to get my hands on a professional camera though due to how expensive they are. At the age of 18 my husband saw my potential and bought me my very own camera for my birthday, that's when Rachel D Photography was born. Now? I’ve been in business for almost 5 years, a few months in Texas, just over three years in Japan, and now almost a year in Germany as I’m writing this. I truly have a passion for serving and creating unforgettable experiences for my couples all over the world.

While I love photography as my career, my real passion lies in capturing your moments as they actually happen, not how Pinterest or another platform tells me to. The photography industry can often fall into focusing more on what will go viral on your feed rather than truly focusing on the connection of couples and families.
My goal for your session is to capture the little things that no one else sees, the way your significant other holds tight onto your pinky finger, or the way you feel safe in their arms, because THOSE are the things that matter and that take my sessions from just a shallow photoshoot to a full on experience. A session with me is 10000% about YOU and I pray before each and every session that God will give me guidance on how to capture just that as authentically as possible.

Here's my story! I'm a former military wifey (my husband served 6 years and just got out) and a girl mama! I'm currently based in Knoxville, Tennessee and I shoot elopements and weddings along with any other adventure that comes my way! My favorite thing about being a photographer is being able to truly capture a couples story and my favorite is getting the cutest candids and making them realize how beautiful they are and how much fun photos can really be!! Laughing photos are my JAM.
I love tacos and will prioritize them in our weekly dinner menu AT LEAST once maybe twice a week hehe
& one last fact about myself....my dream vacation is between Iceland and Greece...but also insanely jealous of every single place Rachel posts on Instagram so at this point I will go anywhere lol
